pbbfff. my patience is pretty thin. I turn to reason and logic because my emotions are bursting at the seams. If I wasn't so neurotic about formalizing arguments into philosophical rhetoric I would too easily get lost in my emotions and think the worst of people....of course, treating people (even myself) like a wholly rational being is dehumanizing of sorts and so even too much reason is abusive on my part. Thank YOU for YOUR patience. =)

You analogies about the Buddha are insightful. There is a good reason why the prophets objected to making idols, hm? Actually it's appropriate that you posted about that Criminal Intent episode. While I've never come close to enacting such depths of depravity (inflicting it on others, at least), the strange nature of truth that I convene with (the way my brain articulates "truth" into images) can literally manufacture idols of God that I have to constantly stray from. It's tough, you know....this weird imagery that I convene with. It's manifests in tangible forms that I often doubt the veracity of as time progresses. The prophets say that the Satan (falsehood?) is rarely so obvious as to be directly opposed to God. The easier form of deception is to leave almost everything intact but slightly skew the course from righteousness to destruction. So in my minds eye I can see parts of the Unity of Being and have been steadily stringing them together into an increasingly coherent and utterly astounding realization of The Reality. But it's dim and difficult to maintain unless I have been strictly observing forms of self-denial and I can never keep it all coherent at the same time, so I have developed techniques to pan from image to image in a truthful way. Therefore, I can often confuse the source of my zeal because the authority of these images is something I really need to strain at to differentiate truth from falsehood. And even then when I have it clear in my mind what the truth is, the next trick is to alter the perception of the other people that I convene with.

I'm sure this is an experience of most people, though my particulars of imagery can be called other things by other people.

hmm.....three bodies, eh? Begs the question, which came first, the Trinity or the Essential Buddha Body (thank you Wikipedia...."Svabhavikakaya" appeared in the article on the Buddha bodies). Sort of a weird coincidence, and I wonder how much the Trinity may have evolved from an Eastern philosophy thanks to its encounter with "Romanity" and Greek philosophy? Any light you can shed?
